TGIF
I’m so glad it’s Friday, this has been a very hard week for me, not only with exercising and food, but balancing my life at home with my husband, mom, brother, etc.
Living with my mom has been tough but it’s good for us financially. My husband and mom are doing much better together, there was tension before, but it doesn’t seem to be that way anymore.
My husband is struggling with an issue, and I think part of it is because he doesn’t have things to occupy his time. He doesn’t go to a gym, he doesn’t hang out with friends, he doesn’t have many hobbies, etc. He has work, me, and his computer. And when you have a wife that is pretty independent, it can be hard when you are not the same way. So I told him I’m sorry if I haven’t been around for him much, and I will make more of an effort to, BUT at the same time he needs to start thinking about things he can do to occupy his time that do NOT include spending all sorts of money… He agrees, and some things we have come up with him to do is start cooking dinner an hour after he gets home, spend some time training our birds, etc. Any ideas? Things he can do that aren’t just chores are a plus
I did not go to the gym this morning, I was very tired and decided to sleep at extra hour. Probably only burned like 60-100 calories with that extra hour of sleep, but my mind thanked me for it! No worries, tomorrow AND Sunday hubby and I are getting up and going for a walk both days, and then the following week I’ll be back at the gym!
I went to my book club meeting last night, it was fun, met about 6-7 nice ladies, and we laughed and joked and talked about all sorts of books
I’d already read “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” by Ransom Riggs so I was excited to discuss it with another group.
All the girls except for one liked the book, but it was an older lady who I honestly felt was a bit pretentious, asking the group leader why would she pick a young adult book when most of us were over 25, etc. So when we started talking about the ending the woman (who had to be at least in her 50s) was like OH, that DOES sound good, I only got halfway through it but didn’t like when he got to the island so I stopped” to which I replied “you should have kept going…” lol :p Anyways, I had ONE glass of Pinot Grigio, it was DELICIOUS
And I had some bruschetta and a plate with cheese, meats, nuts, and pickles. I only ate about half of each plate and shared the rest. The scale was up half a pound today, but that’s fine because I know 100% the rest of my eating for the day was good.
And today’s eating will be good as well
Someone just told me about a book called “The Smarter Science of Slim” I’m going to check it out and let you guys know all about it!
Have a good weekend everyone.

My boyfriend sounds kinda like yours. He likes his computer games and whatnot, and then he has me for the rest of his socializing. We have one friend that he goes to lunch or breakfast with from time to time. Some days I wish he’d actively pursue at least one hobby that got him out of the house without me.
You are the second blogger who like that Peculiar Children book. I wanted to read it, but a friend talked me out of it because she hated it so dang much. Maybe I should just read it anyway. I never know what I’ll like. Sometimes I DO get pretentious about books though… if the writing style is poor or there isn’t much character development.

Sometimes we definitely need the sleep more than the gym.

Oh D you have to read it, it’s actually really good. It’s not going to change your life, it’s not epic (well some people feel it is), but it is a good read. It’s definitely different than what is out there IMO. I really just enjoyed it.
Trust me when I say I AM a huge book snob (can’t stand that 50 shades series) and if I didn’t think something was worth reading I’d never recommend it.

What? You don’t like 50 Shades? Kidding. I had to force myself to finish reading it because I wanted to see what all the hype was about. I still have to read the third book.
I like the sounds of hubby making dinner. Why not?
