“New” Pants

I still haven’t looked at the scale. I’m too scared too lol. BUT I am noticing a slight difference in my clothing. Clothing that was slightly tight on me, is now fitting “right.”

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE thrift store shopping, and a few weeks ago I bought a pair of jeans at a thrift store for like $5. The looked really good, really cute. BUT they were a bit tight, like I could get them up but not button them, so I was like screw this, for $5 I’m going to buy them! And today I found them in my closet, pulled them up and zipped and buttoned them right up! :D That was just like one or two weeks ago btw.

I know some people think thrift store shopping is gross, but there are some really great thrift stores out there. For one, most every thrift store I know won’t take clothes that are dirty or torn. And for two, you can find LOTS of great clothing and items for cheap. And some thrift stores wash everything before putting it on their racks, though I wash the clothes myself when I bring them home! :)

Last month I found a BRAND NEW Tommy Hilfiger purse for $10. What was wrong with it? It had a broken zipper, so I went to a shoe repair and they fixed it for $20 and now I have a gorgeous Tommy Hilfiger purse for $30! I mean literally it looks like whoever donated it NEVER used it! I think 80% of my wardrobe now comes from thrift store finds, and no one can tell ;) Specially jeans, I refuse to pay full price for jeans ever again! :)

So anyways, yesterday we had a friend over, and we went out to eat. I suggested my favorite sandwich shop, and got a turkey sandwich on squaw bread (omg so yum). So for the day I ate 1500ish calories. Afterwards my husband ordered another sandwich for him and his friend to share, which I was like okay, you two are guys, you eat more than I do naturally. But then on the way home my husband goes to Rally’s and gets an XL fries! Okay that’s 1200 calories! I didn’t even eat ONE, and his friend had a few. My husband ate all the rest, probably at least 1000 calories worth. I think after that he felt kind of bad because he’s talking about getting healthy but then eats these fries. I also think he was surprised I didn’t even eat one lol. But hey, I want to be healthy! Fries are not a staple anymore, they are a treat!

I didn’t go to the gym this morning, my body wanted sleep, so I’m thinking I will do the gym MWF. This weekend we are going on a 3 mile hike, so I am excited for that. :) That’ll be 3 workouts and 1 physical activity for me :)

As soon as I get the courage to weigh in I’ll let you all know the number!

I leave you with my jam right now ;)

I love that Thrift Shop song. I’m always singing it and driving Chris crazy. It’s just so catchy though!
I started buying pants at thrift shops, because I decided that although I wanted to have plenty of well fitting pants- I didn’t want to pay full price until I am at goal weight. Who wants to blow fifty or more dollars on jeans that may not fit in a couple of months? I agree with you- there are plenty of good finds at thrift stores. And here jeans are usually five or six dollars at the thrift store, so getting them isn’t a big deal.
I bought about five pairs at the beginning of fall, and all but one pair are now a little too large. Win!

That’s awesome girl- if I ever meet you and Chris we have to sing that song! POPPIN TAGS! ;)

Okay, I’m not even gonna listen to that song in case it gets stuck in my head the rest of the day, LOL!

I just bought a pair of almost new chinos one size smaller at the thrift shop for $1. I can button and zip them, but they’re way too snug right now. Hopefully a few pounds later they will feel good enough to wear. If not, I’ll re-donate them!
